Winter sports have a long tradition in Bohinj. Hunters and foresters are considered to be among the region’s first skiers, as skis were the only means of transport that allowed them to navigate the rugged terrain.
The Vogel Ski Centre lies at an altitude of 1,535 m and is renowned for its excellent snow conditions and magnificent views of the Julian Alps. On long winter evenings, you can warm up by the traditional stoves in local restaurants, by the fireplace at the Bohinj Eco Hotel, or relax in the saunas and pools of the Bohinj Water Park.
